Modified Polyethylene has more support that regular Low Density Polyethylene while retaining the same soft comfortable feel. This feature often allows for the use of a thinner sheet to reduce bulk and weight while still maintaining the desired support. Modified Polyethylene offers resistance to stress cracking and tearing commonly encountered when using Low Density Polyethylene and Surlyn®. Modified Polyethylene also offers a wider range of working temperatures and longer working time (forming window) than Linear Polyethylene because it is more forgiving if it is improperly heated.
