Polypropylene roller chains are recommended for lower load requirement applications. Polypropylene is commonly chosen for its balance of thermal, chemical, electrical properties at a cost-effective price. Polypropylene roller chains have a low coefficient of friction. Abrasion resistance and impact resistance are fair but lower to its nylon and UHMW counterparts. Due to an ability to resist degradation by most acids and organic chemicals, polypropylene works well in many harsh and hazardous environments.
