As per our Shipping and Returns Policy, custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-returnable. If you need an over- or undersized item, note it under "Comments" during Checkout. Cut-to-size orders have an acceptable cut tolerance of 1/8" (0.125"), so clarify if the adjustment is to be made on the (+) or (-) side of the saw blade. Please review our full return and shipping policy here.
Measure Twice, Cut Once
Since custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-refundable, be very careful while measuring your dimensions. As each cut is nominal, even the slightest miscalculation could be costly.
How to Use a Measuring Tape
Extend your tape measure several inches to find the 1 and 2 inch markers. In between the inch markers you’ll find 16 equally spaced tick marks.
Measure by counting the increments beyond the nearest inch. As the increments decrease, so does the length of the mark. For example, 1/2" has a bigger mark than 1/4" which has a bigger mark than 1/8". The smallest mark follows at 1/16". Please be aware that some measuring tapes may have even smaller increments.
Features of a Measuring Tape: Sliding End Hook
The sliding end hook is designed for two different types of measurements. An outside measurement (where the hook of the tape hangs over an edge), requires the hook to slide out a bit to account for the thickness of the material. When making an inside measurement (where the hook will push up against a surface), the clip slides in, again, accounting for its thickness. The measuring tape self-adjusts to guarantee an accurate measurement (as far as the tape is concerned).
Sanitizing Acrylic and Polycarbonate Sheet [X]
Acrylic and Polycarbonate Sneeze Guards and like products require special care while cleaning and disinfecting. To maintain the optical clarity of sneeze guards and other acrylic or polycarbonate items, use an acrylic or polycarbonate safe cleaner like Novus Plastic Polish #1, Brillianize Plastic Cleaner, or a mild soap solution.
Please reference the following compatible cleaners when DISINFECTING acrylic and polycarbonate items. The use of commonly available commercial alcohol or ammonia-based disinfectants may cause crazing and damage.
UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is a common machinable plastic known for durability, versatility and cost-effectiveness as well as abrasion, impact and chemical resistances. UHMW plastic features a molecular weight that ranges from 3.1 million to 100 million grams per mole, with an abrasion resistance that continues to improve as molecular weight increases.
First developed by Interstate Plastics, IPX 2000 UHMW is a machinable advanced engineer polyethylene compound manufactured to retain the high qualities of traditional UHMW but with increased abrasion resistance and UV stability. IPX 2000 advanced wear technology is UV stabilized for long term exposure in outdoor applications, which increases product life as well as high quality performance.
IPX 2000 is known for high resistance to corrosive chemicals (except oxidizing acids), low moisture absorption and high resistance to friction. Due to a specialized self-lubricating formula, the coefficient of friction of IPX 2000 is significantly lower versus traditional UHMW, nylon and acetal. IPX 2000 is burgundy red in color and not approved for FDA contact. IPX 2000 is commonly used to improve performance in existing plastic applications and replace metals in more demanding solutions. Applications for IPX 2000 are virtually the same as UHMW and include gears, springs, plates, bushings and housings.
Availability: IPX 2000 comes standard in burgundy red. Sheet sizes are available as large as 48" x 120" and in custom cut-to-size dimensions.
Improved Abrasion Resistance: IPX advanced wear technology UHMW improved from 16 to 7 compared to standard UHMW in a standard slurry test. This lower number indicates as much as a 40% increase in wear resistance over competitors grades of UHMW.
Lower Coefficient of Friction: The additives in IPX allow for added slip; as much as 30% more. This added slip decreases part wear in nearly all applications.
Decreased Thermal Expansion/Contraction: The formulation of IPX advanced wear technology UHMW allows for more stability and less part expansion and contraction, thus allowing for closer part tolerances and fit.
Fully UV Stabilized: IPX advanced wear technology UHMW is UV stabilized for long term exposure in outdoor applications. You will experience an increased useful life and consistent performance in a wide range of temperatures and conditions.

Applications for IPX are the same as UHMW and include Gears, Springs, Plates, Bushings and Housings. IPX UHMW is not approved for food contact.
Industrial:
Conveyor Guide Rails, Belt Scrapers, Chain Guides, Suspension Wear Plates, Rider Plates, Idler Rollers, Guide Shoes, Wear Strips and Shoes
Ordered a custom cut 24" square by 1" thick piece. Received a piece that was 3/16" short on both sides and a corner was badly dinged due to substandard packaging. Cost for custom cut added to that for return ship for a replacement is prohibitive. Material is great, but if you guys want me as a repeat customer, you'll have to do a better job.

I actually found this through wikipedia, and it is a lot better for conveyor lining versus repro or regular uhmw. It has increased efficiency and shows no signs of wear after about 8 months now.
2015-10-28
So far, IPX 2000 shows lower coefficient of friction compared to regular UHMWPE (per your own statements...GREAT!!)
2015-04-26
We found product performs only slightly better than regular UHMW PE....very expensive and high shipping. Unless you are involved in using for manufacturing machinery that makes you millions of dollars you better off with UHMW PE.
2015-01-12
High shipping cost.

great thanks
2014-08-14
the "advanced wear" technology is great. we've seen less stress on our parts, especially on curved liners and will order more if we need it. with how indestructible this is that could be a while.
2014-03-24
Excellent. Much better than UHMW for tensile strength.
2014-02-28
Great customer service. On time delivery, and honest assessment of whats needed for the specific project.
2014-02-19
Every since replacing UHMW guide rails with the IPX material, we have seen a great performance increase in bulk material handling. Great wear life, great resistance to friction, great product.
2014-01-02
Slippery! A great product from Interstate.
2013-11-13
Better than UHMW for abrasion resistance. Id rather buy online than deal with anyone, and the website works well.
2013-10-31
We are so glad Interstate recommended the IPX to us. It has great abrasion resistance and withstands extreme temperature changes. It is exactly what we needed.
2013-10-11
There is really nothing else out there like the IPX which has replaced all the uhmw on our guide rails. This is some slippery stuff.
2013-08-09
A well done and innovative product from Interstate Plastics, we are quite impressed with the product. You cant get it from any other manufacturer, I believe this is proprietary.
2013-07-12
This is my first time leaving an online review (on plastic no less!) but the IPX material is unlike anything you can get elsewhere and it has proven extremely helpful in lasting longer under high impact applications.
2013-05-31
Use this a lot in fluctuating temperatures and maintains its shape very well
2013-05-29
When it comes to component parts, we wouldnt use anything else. IPX has proven to perform much better than the standard UHMW we used prior.
2012-11-19
We needed some serious abrasion resistance. The color really threw us off but it works well. We replaced all of our UHMW with IPK and wont go back.
2012-08-03
Works better than standard UHMW on my conveyer's guide rails. No wear after some heavy use.
