Polypropylene Overview

Polypropylene machinable plastic, or Polypro for short, is a rugged, light weight, abrasion resistant, and high strength thermoplastic. Polypropylene plastic is also good at transporting moisture and extremely resistant to many chemical solvents, bases and acids.

It is a cost effective with excellent aesthetic qualities; easy to weld using thermoplastic welding equipment; and is often fabricated into water and chemical tanks.

Homopolymer polypropylene is stronger and stiffer than copolymer. Copolymer Polypropylene is slightly softer, but tougher and more durable versus homopolymer. Copolymer tends to have better stress crack resistance and low temperature toughness.

Fluted Polypropylene has a wide variety of industrial, artistic, and decorative applications. It can be die-cut, scored, glued, stitched and ultrasonically welded. Fluted polypro is receptive to adhesives, vinyl lettering, and can be flexographic, screen and digitally printed. Ideal for widespread applications and industries, such as signage, automotive, construction, shelter, converting, lamination, industrial and agricultural packaging.
