About Cut-to-Size Orders
- All cut-to-size dimensions are nominal and subject to a tolerance of ±0.125" (1/8").
- Non-optimal cut-to-size materials are non-returnable and non-refundable. Cut-to-size orders include any material that is cut below standard or optimal sheet size.
- Optimal sheet sizes are generally 12" x 24", 24" x 48", 48" x 96", and 48" x 120". Standard sheet sizes are generally 48" x 96" and 48" x 120". Standard and optimal sheet sizes may be returned only if unused and undamaged.
- Rods and tubes may only be returned in standard lengths of 4', 5', 8', 10', and 12'. All other lengths are considered non-optimal.
- Standard items and optimal sizes are subject to a 35% restocking fee plus freight costs.
About Freight Quotes
Interstate Plastics contacts multiple freight carriers to ensure you receive a competitive freight quote. Comparing the price points of several carriers allows the selection of the most cost-effective option for your shipping needs. This freight quoting system allows Interstate Plastics to continue providing you with the outstanding service the company is known for.
Order Processing & Shipping
Please allow 24 to 48 hours for order status information to become available. Non-cut stock items typically ship within 2 business days. Cut-to-size orders are processed according to warehouse cutting schedules and usually ship within 3 to 5 business days.
Transit times vary based on shipping method and destination, with an average delivery time of approximately 4 business days for stocked, non-cut items. Out-of-stock materials may require 4 to 6 weeks for fulfillment.
Expedited shipping options are available, including Blue Label service, which ships in two days plus cutting time. Please contact us at (888) 768-5759 for availability, details, and pricing.
Interstate Plastics works with multiple carriers to provide reliable and cost-effective shipping options. Customers with preferred shipping carriers or special packaging requirements should contact a sales representative at (888) 768-5759 prior to shipment.
Additional shipping charges apply for Alaska, Hawaii, U.S. territories, domestic islands, and other countries.
Shipping Standards for Finished vs. Semi-Finished Plastics
Finished plastics have a protective film or coating to prevent scratches and scuffs. Semi-finished plastics are defined as all plastics that do not come with a protective film, and generally include machinable materials and all non-clear plastics.
- Semi-finished plastics may exhibit light scuffs or scratches from handling during stocking and transport. This is not considered a quality issue. If you are unsure whether the material you wish to order is finished or semi-finished, please contact us at (888) 768-5759.
- Finished plastics measuring 2' x 4' or smaller are wrapped in a single layer of corrugated cardboard and shipped in an appropriately sized box. Sheets may ship with or without cardboard corner protection; corners are available upon request.
- Plastic materials larger than 2' x 4' are wrapped in corrugated cardboard but will not be boxed, and are typically shipped via freight on a pallet. Freight shipments generally start at $150 for commercial addresses and $250 for residential addresses.
- Crating is not included for most materials except for polycarbonate twinwall unless specifically requested.
Shipping to Residential & Commercial Addresses
Customers must designate whether the delivery address is residential or commercial at checkout. Any location without a loading dock and forklift is considered a residential address. Neglecting to designate the delivery address as residential may result in the inability to deliver the shipment.
Lift gate or pallet jack services must be requested in the comments section of the order during checkout and are not included in standard delivery charges.
Residential customers are responsible for unloading all freight and must be available and physically able to offload materials. Drivers are unable to deliver beyond street level, cannot assist with unloading the shipment, and cannot wait for the shipment to be unloaded by hand. Customers must unload and retain all crating and packaging materials, as the carrier will not dispose of them.
Residential customers must be present at the scheduled delivery time with the ability to unload freight. If the shipment cannot be delivered or is refused by the customer, the freight carrier will charge a service fee to attempt a re-delivery or to store the material until it can be delivered.
Shipping Domestically
Domestic shipments typically ship via UPS, Interstate Plastics' preferred carrier. Customers with their own carrier accounts must request use of their account prior to shipment and will have shipping refunded.
USPS may be used for small sheets (typically under 12" x 12") and accessories, subject to USPS size and weight restrictions.
Shipping Internationally
International shipments are limited to UPS or USPS unless shipped on a customer-provided account. USPS shipping is limited to flat rate boxes. Hazardous materials cannot be shipped internationally.
Available products, shipping rates, and fees may vary depending on the delivery address for your order. Import duties, taxes, and customs fees are the responsibility of the recipient. Please call (888) 768-5759 for rates to your country. Freight (non-parcel) orders are handled on a case-by-case basis and, in many instances, can only be shipped to a freight forwarder.
Shipping Polycarbonate Twinwall
Due to increased susceptibility to damage, polycarbonate twinwall must be shipped on a protective plywood pallet to ensure damage-free delivery. There is a $20 crating charge per linear foot:
| Sheet Size | Crating Charge |
|---|---|
| 4' x 8' | $160 |
| 4' x 12' | $240 |
| 4' x 16' | $320 |
| 4' x 24' | $480 |
Note: Lengths over 8' incur an additional $452 excessive length charge (presented at checkout as part of the crating fee).

Shipping Adhesives
Due to shipping restrictions on certain adhesives, you may be required to purchase a minimum of one full case. Various adhesive types and sizes contain different quantities. Please call Interstate Plastics for full case minimums.
The U.S. Department of Transportation publishes Title 49 CFR (Code of Federal Regulations), which regulates transportation of hazardous materials by road, rail, sea and air.
Inspection & Damage Claims
All shipments must be inspected prior to signing for the package. If the item is damaged in transit in a way that renders it unusable, delivery must be refused to receive a replacement as all cut-to-size, non-optimal size items are non-returnable.
For UPS shipments, damage claims must be filed within 7 days from receipt of delivery date. The UPS claim number must be provided to an Interstate Plastics representative at (888) 768-5759 for examination so that appropriate actions may be taken.
For LTL (less-than-truckload) freight shipments, a written damage claim must be received within 5 to 7 days of delivery refusal. Claims submitted after this window are not eligible for refunds or replacements. After the window has passed, all sales are final.
Credit cannot be issued until damaged material is received and inspected at an Interstate Plastics facility. Contact Interstate Plastics for the required return authorization number. ISO requirements allow no exceptions.
Interstate Plastics Return Policy
Cancellation requests must be received by an Interstate Plastics representative via email or phone before the order is accepted for processing or executed. "Executed" is defined as meaning the material for the order has moved into the warehouse for cutting and/or that materials have been ordered from suppliers.
By purchasing through the Interstate Plastics website, you understand and accept that an order cannot be canceled once Interstate Plastics has processed or executed the order.
Orders are generally processed within 24 to 48 hours, but may be processed within minutes of placement. Do not assume an order has been canceled without written confirmation.
Damaged materials must be refused on delivery and reported to Interstate Plastics within 7 days. Please review the Inspection & Damage Claims section for more information regarding damaged materials.
Returns must be requested within 30 days of shipment and require prior written approval. Only unused, unmodified stock material in resalable condition is eligible for return. Cut-to-size, fabricated, custom, or non-stock material is non-returnable. Final return eligibility is at the sole discretion of company management.
- Standard stock and optimal-size items may be returned within 30 days if in like new, undamaged condition. See the About Cut-to-Size section for a list of optimal sizes.
- Standard stock and optimal-size items may be returned via freight or mail, or dropped off in-person at an Interstate Plastics facility.
- All returned items incur a 35% restocking fee, plus cost of freight. Quality issues are exempt from fees.
- Items will be inspected to ensure they are in like new, undamaged condition. Credit cannot be issued until the product has been received and inspected.
- Refunds may take up to 14 days before they are fully processed and completed.
- Non-optimal cut-to-size materials and fabricated parts are non-returnable and non-refundable. Cut-to-size orders include any material that is cut below standard or optimal sheet size and have an acceptable cut tolerance of 1/8" (0.125").
- Rods and tubes may only be returned in standard lengths of 4', 5', 8', 10', and 12'. All other lengths are considered non-optimal.
- Semi-finished plastics may come with scuffs and small scratches as the surface is not protected during stocking and loading. This is not considered a quality issue for the purposes of returns.
- All refund requests for interstateplastics.com orders must be received in a written format (email, letter) to be considered. Verbal requests for refund will not be acted on until a refund request is received in writing.
- Adhesives and any hazardous materials are not returnable or refundable and all adhesive and hazardous material sales are final. All adhesives ship from Interstate Plastics' Sacramento location. No overnight shipping or air freight will be provided for hazardous material shipping.
- Returned items must be in new and unused condition. Tools, welding tools, blades, drills, bits, sample packs and all accessory items will be inspected to ensure the item is in new condition. Items must be returned with all original packaging and/or accessories. Individual samples are non-refundable.
- Contact Interstate Plastics for the required return authorization number. ISO requirements allow no exceptions.
