Styrene Overview

Styrene plastic is a go to machinable plastic when high impact resistance and machinability are needed at a cost effective price point.

Styrene is commonly used in prototypes as it is dimensionally stable and easy to fabricate, paint and glue. Styrene is also nontoxic and odorless with excellent forming properties.

Styrene is inexpensive, has good dimensional stability and impact resistance. Styrene can be cut, drilled, machined, bent, bonded and fabricated.

Styrene Applications

Styrene is found in many familiar products including food containers, rubber tires, building insulation, carpet backing and reinforced fiberglass composites such as boat hulls, surfboards, residential kitchen countertops, bathtubs and shower enclosures.

It is ideal for prototypes, screen printing, vacuum forming, models, boxes, toys, signs and displays.
