Styrene Plastic - HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) Sheet

Styrene provided by Interstate Plastics is inexpensive, has good dimensional stability and impact resistance. Perfect for when high impact resistance and machinability are needed at a cost effective price point.

What is High Impact Polystyrene?

High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) is a tough, cost-effective plastic that is easy to fabricate and thermoform. It is commonly used for signage, prototypes, and in applications where high impact resistance and machinability are required at a cost-effective price.

Styrene is commonly used in prototypes as it is dimensionally stable and easy to fabricate, paint and glue. Styrene is also nontoxic and odorless with excellent forming properties.

Styrene is inexpensive, has good dimensional stability and impact resistance. Styrene can be cut, drilled, machined, bent, bonded, and fabricated.

  • Cost-effective
  • Easy to paint and print on
  • Easy to assemble with adhesives or solvents
  • Outstanding thermoforming characteristics
  • Good machinability
  • High impact resistance
