Flange bearings are available in two standard materials: oil-filled nylon and natural or virgin UHMW. In corrosion sensitive applications, UHMW is the preferred material, however, oil-filled nylon has a huge advantage in load bearing capability. Both materials are routinely used in food contact applications where wash-down and lubricity are concerns.

Nylon plastics reduce energy loss and are used for long life wear parts.
