As per our Shipping and Returns Policy, custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-returnable. If you need an over- or undersized item, note it under "Comments" during Checkout. Cut-to-size orders have an acceptable cut tolerance of 1/8" (0.125"), so clarify if the adjustment is to be made on the (+) or (-) side of the saw blade. Please review our full return and shipping policy here.
Measure Twice, Cut Once
Since custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-refundable, be very careful while measuring your dimensions. As each cut is nominal, even the slightest miscalculation could be costly.
How to Use a Measuring Tape
Extend your tape measure several inches to find the 1 and 2 inch markers. In between the inch markers you’ll find 16 equally spaced tick marks.
Measure by counting the increments beyond the nearest inch. As the increments decrease, so does the length of the mark. For example, 1/2" has a bigger mark than 1/4" which has a bigger mark than 1/8". The smallest mark follows at 1/16". Please be aware that some measuring tapes may have even smaller increments.
Features of a Measuring Tape: Sliding End Hook
The sliding end hook is designed for two different types of measurements. An outside measurement (where the hook of the tape hangs over an edge), requires the hook to slide out a bit to account for the thickness of the material. When making an inside measurement (where the hook will push up against a surface), the clip slides in, again, accounting for its thickness. The measuring tape self-adjusts to guarantee an accurate measurement (as far as the tape is concerned).
Sanitizing Acrylic and Polycarbonate Sheet [X]
Acrylic and Polycarbonate Sneeze Guards and like products require special care while cleaning and disinfecting. To maintain the optical clarity of sneeze guards and other acrylic or polycarbonate items, use an acrylic or polycarbonate safe cleaner like Novus Plastic Polish #1, Brillianize Plastic Cleaner, or a mild soap solution.
Please reference the following compatible cleaners when DISINFECTING acrylic and polycarbonate items. The use of commonly available commercial alcohol or ammonia-based disinfectants may cause crazing and damage.
High-Performance Halar® ECTFE 902 for Chemical & Permeation Resistance
Halar® ECTFE 902 sheet is a high-performance material solution for when conventional engineering plastics cannot provide the necessary chemical or permeation resistance. This high-viscosity, melt-processable fluoropolymer combines broad chemical resistance, excellent barrier properties, abrasion resistance, and mechanical toughness.
Halar® ECTFE 902 is an effective intermediate option between PVDF grades and fully fluorinated materials such as PTFE or PFA for applications requiring greater toughness, abrasion resistance, or barrier performance.
Looking for materials that withstand highly corrosive environments? We also offer PVDF and PTFE.
Why Choose Halar® ECTFE 902 Sheet?
Halar® ECTFE 902 has a valuable combination of physical durability and corrosion resistance for sheet extrusion, thermoforming, and compression molding of thick shapes. It is a strong choice when you need:
Broad Chemical Resistance:
Provides excellent resistance to aggressive acids, strong bases, and many organic solvents within compatible service conditions.
Excellent Barrier Properties:
Helps limit the passage of corrosive liquids, gases, and vapors through protective linings and fabricated process components.
Mechanical Toughness:
Provides excellent impact strength and retains its toughness across a broad temperature range.
High-Viscosity Grade:
Grade 902 is formulated for producing thick shapes and thermoformable sheet, with improved resistance to thermal stress cracking compared with standard ECTFE grades.
Abrasion Resistance:
Provides a durable surface that helps resist mechanical wear in corrosive process equipment and fabricated components.
Halar® ECTFE vs. PVDF: Which Do You Need?
Both are high-performance, melt-processable fluoropolymers, but their capabilities and cost profiles suit different operating conditions.
Choose Halar® ECTFE 902 (This Sheet) when low permeation, abrasion resistance, or improved thermal stress-crack resistance is necessary.
Choose PVDF when the application remains within the selected grade's chemical, temperature, and mechanical limits and material costs are a deciding factor.
Halar® ECTFE 902 sheet can be machined, thermoformed, and welded using appropriate fluoropolymer-fabrication equipment and procedures. Heat buildup and residual stress can affect finished part performance - use sharp tooling, controlled cutting conditions, and grade-appropriate joining procedures.

ECTNE
Technical Performance
Halar® ECTFE 902 combines the mechanical properties of an engineering thermoplastic with the chemical resistance and barrier performance of a fluoropolymer.
Broad chemical resistance. Compatibility must be verified for the exact chemical, concentration, temperature, pressure, and exposure duration.
Low Permeability:
Excellent barrier properties help limit the passage of corrosive liquids, gases, and vapors through fabricated process components.
Mechanical Performance:
Typical tensile strength of 4,300 psi at yield and 6,800 psi at break, with a tensile modulus of approximately 240,000 psi at 73°F.
Key Properties
Low Moisture Absorption:
Very low moisture absorption (<0.1% after 24 hours at 73°F), helping limit moisture-related dimensional changes in wet environments.
Abrasion Resistance:
The durable surface helps resist mechanical wear in corrosive processing equipment and fabricated components.
Electrical Performance:
Provides strong electrical insulation properties for demanding electrical and electronic applications.
Flame Resistance:
Provides strong flame resistance with low flame spread and low smoke generation.
Common Industrial Applications
Chemical Processing: Corrosion-resistant liners, backed vessel linings, duct components, tank components, and fabricated non-pressure parts exposed to compatible aggressive chemicals.
Pharmaceutical Processing: Equipment surfaces and fabricated components requiring chemical resistance, low permeability, and a smooth fluoropolymer surface.
Electrical Equipment: Insulating components that benefit from high volume resistivity, dielectric strength, and chemical resistance.
Pollution-Control Systems: Scrubber linings, exhaust duct components, and protective barriers exposed to corrosive gases or condensates.
Engineering Limitations & Alternatives
Halar® ECTFE 902 provides a valuable combination of chemical, barrier, mechanical, and electrical properties, but certain operating environments may favor another material:
Moderate Chemical Exposure: Halar® ECTFE 902 may exceed the requirements of applications that remain within PVDF's chemical and temperature capabilities. Better Alternative: When the selected grade is compatible with the application, consider PVDF as a more economical fluoropolymer option.
Higher-Temperature Chemical Service: ECTFE may not be the best choice for every chemical when exposure temperatures approach or exceed its recommended operating range. Better Alternative: Evaluate PTFE or another fully fluorinated polymer for broader chemical resistance at elevated temperatures.
Sustained Structural Loads: Like other thermoplastics, Halar® ECTFE 902 can creep under prolonged mechanical stress, particularly as temperature increases. Better Alternative: When chemical compatibility is confirmed and greater stiffness and creep resistance are required, consider PEEK.
