Interstate Plastics is proud to carry High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), a machinable thermoplastic known for its high strength-to-density ratio, long term durability and light weight. HDPE's toughness and flexibility make it one of the most commonly used plastics in the United States today.
HDPE is also known by brand names including King Starboard®, King Starlite®, ColorCore®, Proteus®, PE2Print®, Corrtec®, Playboard® and Designboard®.
Durability HDPE features high impact strength, moisture, stain, and odor resistances, and is FDA approved to be used in the food processing industry. HDPE will not splinter, rot or absorb harmful bacteria, and is extremely resistant to cleaning agents.
Machinability HDPE's durability, versatility and high tolerances to many substances and environments make it an outstanding material for a wide variety of applications. HDPE has a low coefficient of friction and can be easily cut, machined, welded, and thermoformed for easy fabrication.
Storage Ability With a low coefficient of friction, long term durability, as well as high impact strength, it's no wonder HDPE is the product of choice for so many applications within marine biology, packaging, industrial, plumbing, food and beverage, consumer industries and more.
Note: HDPE is an industrial grade plastic and does not come with protective masking. Scratches and scuffs on HDPE rods are considered acceptable and are not a valid reason for returning this material.
