As per our Shipping and Returns Policy, custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-returnable. If you need an over- or undersized item, note it under "Comments" during Checkout. Cut-to-size orders have an acceptable cut tolerance of 1/8" (0.125"), so clarify if the adjustment is to be made on the (+) or (-) side of the saw blade. Please review our full return and shipping policy here.
Measure Twice, Cut Once
Since custom cuts and fabricated parts are non-refundable, be very careful while measuring your dimensions. As each cut is nominal, even the slightest miscalculation could be costly.
How to Use a Measuring Tape
Extend your tape measure several inches to find the 1 and 2 inch markers. In between the inch markers you’ll find 16 equally spaced tick marks.
Measure by counting the increments beyond the nearest inch. As the increments decrease, so does the length of the mark. For example, 1/2" has a bigger mark than 1/4" which has a bigger mark than 1/8". The smallest mark follows at 1/16". Please be aware that some measuring tapes may have even smaller increments.
Features of a Measuring Tape: Sliding End Hook
The sliding end hook is designed for two different types of measurements. An outside measurement (where the hook of the tape hangs over an edge), requires the hook to slide out a bit to account for the thickness of the material. When making an inside measurement (where the hook will push up against a surface), the clip slides in, again, accounting for its thickness. The measuring tape self-adjusts to guarantee an accurate measurement (as far as the tape is concerned).
Nylon is one of the oldest and most widely used engineered mechanical plastics. Its combination of toughness, dimensional stability, wear resistance, availability, and versatility make it a natural choice for informed engineers looking to improve their project. Nylon plastic rod has served well in replacing many metals and offers a design choice when noise reduction and long life are important.
Nylon is a tough, stable engineering thermoplastic with a high modulus of elasticity, high strength, good rigidity, dimensional stability, resistance to moisture, solvents and other chemicals.
Lubrication results in 25% lower coefficient of friction than other grades of Nylon. Reduced water absorption promotes higher dimensional stability. Oil will not spin out, dry out, or drain out, even under the harshest operating conditions.

Nylon plastic rod in non-fibrous castable form is used almost exclusively for mechanical purposes such as gears and sprockets. In fibrous forms, Nylon has many textile applications.
Tip of the hat to my good friends at Interstate Plastic, a very reliable supplier of nylon for us.
After an exhausting search to find the Nylon Rod I was looking for I had initially "settled" on Interstate Plastics -- however as I was delighted by their easy to use website and very surprised by their exceptional customer service, I have no complaints and feel going anywhere else would have been really settling. I made an order on Black Friday and Interstate processed and shipped in 3 business days. If it were not for a freak snow/ice storm the order would have arrived within 2 days. I contacted customer service and verified the order was processed and there were no issues. I received a response back within an hour which was above and beyond -- no fluff or dodging of questions. They explained there was a delay because due to the storm they had shut down production for a day to allow their staff to stay safe at home for the day. Gotta love a company that looks out for its people and answers customer questions honestly and directly. I would HIGHLY recommend their services!
Ordered this for a project and recieved the wrong size but I ended up using it anyways. I still needed the stuff I ordered so I called and they applied the difference to my next order.
