HDU Precision Board® - High-Density Urethane Sheets

High Density Urethane (HDU) Precision Board is the preferred choice for signage and tooling because it eliminates the natural failures of wood. Unlike wood, HDU is engineered to be completely waterproof, rot-resistant, and chemically inert. It is an ideal choice for professionals who require a dimensionally stable substrate that won't warp, crack, or peel, regardless of environmental exposure.

While HDU is naturally resistant to the elements, it requires proper priming to achieve a professional finish. HDU is non-porous, so paint sits on the surface rather than soaking in. Specialized primers like PB-Resin or high-quality water-based primers are recommended. Once primed, it accepts almost any paint system, including latex, oil-based, and automotive enamels, allowing for vibrant, long-lasting displays. To ensure a quality finish:

1. Prime: Use PB-Resin or a high-solids water-based primer to fill the cell structure.
2. Paint: Compatible with all standard finishes including automotive urethanes, enamels, and acrylics.
3. No Outgassing: Precision Board is "cured" during manufacturing, so it won't bubble your finish even in direct sunlight.
