Industrial Plastics for Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO)

Buy cut-to-size durable engineered plastics and wear-resistant composites designed to minimize facility downtime, extend equipment service life, and reduce long-term operational costs.

Why choose plastic materials for MRO?

In maintenance, repair, and operations settings, parts need to be reliable, cost-effective, and easy to replace. Compared to metal, parts made from plastics better resist friction, chemicals, and moisture while offering long-term wear resistance and the ability to handle mechanical stress over extended cycles.

PEEK performs reliably at elevated temperatures and under heavy loads, making it ideal for high-stress bushings, bearings, and valve seals.

Nylon, PTFE, and UHMW are all self-lubricating and have low friction properties, making them ideal for bearings, rollers, and slide pads that may sometimes need to operate without external lubrication.

Nyloil® Nylon is a self-lubricating cast nylon that delivers about 25% lower friction than standard nylon grades and maintains performance in wet or harsh environments where external lubrication is impractical. It's widely used in bushings, bearings, rollers, gears, and wear strips to extend part life and reduce maintenance.

Polycarbonate offers superior impact resistance and clarity. It is commonly used in protective covers, machine guards, and housing windows where durability and visibility are essential.

Noryl® is noted for combining mechanical rigidity, flame resistance, hydrolytic stability, and dimensional precision—well-suited for electrical enclosures, connector housings, and insulated components in demanding MRO environments.

PET (polyethylene terephthalate) is dimensionally stable, wear-resistant, and thermostable—ideal for structural components like trays, carriers, and guides that require precision and resistance to temperature swings.

Acetal offers excellent dimensional stability, fatigue resistance, and load-bearing capability. It maintains precision under frequent reuse and often works in wet or chemical environments.

Phenolics, particularly electrical grade canvas phenolic (CE), excel as electrical insulators and rigid structural panels, helping to prevent electrical faults while maintaining shape and strength in housings or tooling.

ABS and PVC are ideal for protective housings and covers. They effectively shield internal parts from shocks, vibration, and chemical exposure while being cost-effective and easily machinable.
