King StarBoard® is a lightweight, tough thermoplastic, environmentally stabilized for marine use. With all the same benefits as Marine Board HDPE, King StarBoard® lends itself to the industry standard of original marine-grade HDPE. With a proprietary formula, King StarBoard® is the most advanced and highest performing, consistently flat marine-grade plastic sheet. King StarBoard® is environmentally stabilized to storm the harshest weather conditions and stand up to any extreme marine environment.
StarBoard® is resistant to salt water, a wide range of chemicals and UV exposure and, unlike other alternatives, doesn't splinter, crack, delaminate, rot, swell or absorb water. Even under heavy foot traffic on yacht decks, StarBoard® remains virtually maintenance free.
Interstate Plastics also carries varying grades of Marine Board HDPE plastic including King StarBoard® A/S, King StarBoard® XL, and King Starlite® XL Utility.
With a self-lubricating formula and a high sliding resistance alongside excellent long-term durability and weather resistances, King StarBoard® is an ideal marine plastic for a variety of applications including replacing wood, metal or laminate walkways, hatches, walkways, cabinetry and countertops as well as ship and boat components regularly exposed to harsh outdoor environments.
In addition to its resistance to marine and other outdoor conditions, King StarBoard® has a decorative, textured surface that does not show wear, dirt or scratches.
Salt Water and Moisture Resistances
King StarBoard® is a lightweight and extremely tough, chemically resistant plastic. It does not absorb water and has a good sliding abrasion resistance in addition to a specialized self-lubrication. Unlike many other marine-based materials, King StarBoard® is environmentally stabilized to resist salt water, and will not rot or degrade.
