King StarBoard® & HDPE Marine Board

Buy cut-to-size King StarBoard® and HDPE Marine Board - superior alternatives to wood that withstand the harshest aquatic environments. Easily machinable with standard tools, Interstate Plastics offers both the industry-standard King StarBoard® and a cost-effective generic Marine Board that deliver high-performance durability.

What is HDPE Marine Board?

Manufactured for marine use, Marine Board HDPE is a superior alternative to wood at a very economical price. While resistant to salt water, a wide range of chemicals and UV exposure, unlike other alternatives, Marine Board doesn't splinter, crack, delaminate, rot, swell or absorb water. Even under heavy foot traffic on yacht decks, it remains virtually maintenance free.

The colors of Marine Board are integrated with the polymer, retaining color vibrancy and saving you time and money from needing to repaint. Marine Board is easily cut, routed, shaped and drilled using common standard woodworking and shop tools.

With a self-lubricating formula and a high sliding resistance alongside excellent long-term durability and weather resistance, Marine Board HDPE is an ideal marine plastic for a variety of applications including replacing wood, metal or laminate walkways, hatches, walkways, cabinetry and countertops as well as ship and boat components regularly exposed to harsh outdoor environments.

In addition to its resistance to marine and other outdoor conditions, Marine Board has a decorative, textured surface that does not show wear, dirt or scratches.

Interstate Plastics also carries King Starboard® HDPE Marine Board, the industry standard for extreme outdoor weather performance. Interstate Plastics provides Marine Board as a more economical version of Starboard®, without sacrificing material specifications or performance, and also offers varying grades of Marine Board plastic including King StarBoard®, King StarBoard® A/S, King StarBoard® XL, and King Starlite®XL Utility.

King Starboard® Specs, Grades & Applications

Comparing Marine Grade HDPE Types

King StarBoard®
With all the same benefits as Marine Board, King StarBoard® lends itself to the industry standard of original marine-grade HDPE. With a proprietary formula, King StarBoard® is the most advanced and highest performing consistently flat continuous Marine Grade plastic sheet.

King StarBoard® is environmentally stabilized to storm the harshest weather and stand up to any extreme marine environment.

Marine Board versus King StarBoard® A/S
With all the same benefits at Marine Board and King StarBoard®, StarBoard® A/S grade applies an anti-slip texture, perfect for high traffic walkways and other areas where a texture is desired.

Marine Board versus King StarBoard® XL
Interstate Plastics' King Starboard® XL is a lighter, more economical version of the popular Marine Board.

This 100% virgin polymer, marine-grade cellular material has an excellent surface finish. Interstate Plastics' Black King StarBoard® XL sheets are up to 30% lighter in weight than Marine Board, and are made with the same textured surface and colors for a perfect match.

Sheet sizes are 54" wide and 96" long. Black and white versions are most readily available and remain equally priced. You can expect 15 day delivery for this item.

Marine Board versus King Starlite® XL Utility
King Starlite® XL Utility is an economical cellular (closed cell) utility sheet made from select high-grade King StarBoard® recycled High-Density Polyethylene.

Fabricating and finishing King Starlite® XL Utility is easy using standard woodworking tools. King Starlite® XL Utility forms easily for smooth curves and bends. Since there is no grain pattern, parts can be cut from any part of the sheet, virtually eliminating waste (offering greater economy versus wood).
